The room was spotless. It had two lazyboy chairs in it......we weren't expecting. Good to view the television. The shower was large with decent pressure. The hosts were friendly and not imposing. The whole motel was extremely quiet, and I think they were close to full. We were overlooking the carpark......as we booked a couple of days before arriving (last minute booking). Would go again.
83 By the Sea is situated on the Esplanade, next to Petone Beach and only 10-minutes from Wellington’s CBD. This motor lodge offers comfortable studios, free parking and harbour views.

The accommodation is very cosy. It looks like a mountain chalet. The kitchen has everything for cooking plus a nice range of tea and an expresso machine. There is a little outdoor area which could be very nice in summer months (we didn't have time to enjoy that part). The shops of Petone are 3 mns away by car.
Definitely recommend.
Val, our host, was very quick to reply to our requests.

Used Lower Hutt accommodation as was attending an event in Porirua and facilities there were booked out a year earlier. Did not experience Lower Hutt at all apart from somewhere to stay and travel to and from.

Petone has a great shopping area on Jackson St and surrounds, with some quirky boutique shops. In particular, I recommend their excellent op shops for quality second hand goods. There are multiple good dining options here, including excellent cafés. We tried "Caffiend", which has excellent coffee.

Was visiting family for Christmas.
Was visiting family for Christmas. Lower Hutt is easy, grew up there. Had dinner twice at Simply Grill Kitchen in Petone, very nice. Would recommend Lower Hutt or Petone for accommodation as very easy to travel into the city - time/distance wise, but accommodation options are probably easier and better value for money 'out the Hutt'

This Hotel is in Petone which has many eateries and shops at the doorstep. Amazing and different sort of shopping. Busy little place. Walk from Hotel to the waterfront which you get to overlook Wellington. I loved to position of the place. Would definitely stay again.
I stayed here for one night and had no complaints, the staff was friendly, the room was clean and the local transport service was nice. This was a very pleasant place to stay and quite close to the town’s shops and restaurants. There was easy parking on the street in front of the hotel. I would certainly stay there again.
Location was walking distance from the train station which suited our group well getting into Wellington and back.
The house well set up and clean. The beds were well made and had nice sheets.
Modern kitchen and bathroom plenty of room.
Was just like a second home. Very pleased with our stay here.
Cute little area outside of Wellington with new rooms and very comfortable accommodations. Had a first floor room with sliding door overlooking a residential neighborhood. Nice complimentary washer/dryer was a great surprise. Located well for ferry to the South Island in the AM.
Stayed at the boulcott lodge before a concert in Lower Hutt. The room was lovely, staff friendly and helpful. Love how the rooms are set up and there were a few of our group staying there and we all got neighbouring rooms. Such a nice place.
this place was amazing!! Absolutely beautiful inside and out, very well equipped and had absolutely anything you could ask for. Next time I'm staying in Wellington, this will be one of the first places I look for when arranging accomodation
spacious well presented home in a quiet area, modern kitchen equipment and with wifi, big rooms with comfortable beds, premium bedding, close to shopping centre and Wellington city centre.
The restaurant meal was superb. The beds were very comfortable. The hotel smelt very nice. The light music that was playing was a lovely touch. The rooms were well laid out.
High standards of cleanliness, comfy beds and a great spa bath in the room. Great location across the road from the beach and only a 15-minute drive from Wellington CBD
