Beautiful hotel. We had breakfast in the cafe which was very busy and staff struggled a lot with keeping up. Tried their best but service was very slow.

I visited the Farmers Market which was fun. I also had a takeaway meal of blue cod, oysters and homemade chips from Best Cafe. The meal was amazing.
I visited a part of the Botanic gardens which was lovely and watched a women’s rugby game at Opoho, just above the Gardens. We were treated to beautiful weather and a large flocks of wood pigeons!

It was very cold, but luckily it didn't rain and where we've stayed our heatpump was amazing. Dunedin is beautiful with very old beautiful buildings and lots of noisy students walking in the main streets until very late talking very loud and kicking rubbish bins.

We just stayed one night on our way to Stewart island as we have been here many times.
We did a trip to Port Chalmers as we hadn’t been there. It a a cute town with a working port. Worth a look and a bit of a walk around.
The hotel is set in a fantastic location, right next to the beach. The staff were great upon our arrival and our room was excellent. We had a nice ocean view from the balcony, the room was clean and well appointed. Our bed was very comfortable and the shower was good. There was onsite parking available and a few nice restaurants and cafes nearby. We were given complimentary tickets to the heated seawater pool about 150m from the hotel which we made use of. It was easy to get to the Otego Peninsular, the Albatross Centre and central Dunedin.
Hotel was very easy to locate - not a lot of available space to park the car while checking in. Was excellently located close to everything we wished to access. Dunedin is a very walkable city and the concierge and front desk staff were able to assist with all our enquiries, store luggage and arrange transport to the airport. Bar staff were fabulous. The room was a little on the small side, but totally adequate for our needs. If you stay here, you must use the 'old' elevator at least once, just for the experience.
Fantastic location, very central in Dunedin and the view of the waterfront was a perk. It was next door to Moiety, where we really wanted to book dinner for a night, Unfortunately we were staying over new years so the restaurant was closed. Hotel was walking distance to downtown and rhe university, fireworks, and most restaurants and about 15min driving away from the castle. We were able to drive about 45min to the royal albatross center as well, which was very scenic.
Apartment was spacious, clean and located in the heart of town. Street parking was ample in the evening, but only available by the hour during the day (not a big deal.) Although access to the apartment was contactless, they did a great job explaining the procedure. Unlike most hotels these days, they serviced the apartment (made the bed, cleaned the bathroom, changed the towels) each day - thank you!
central location was great. room was modern and tastefully decorated. had a separate bath and shower. lovely bath products. very comfortable bed and great Wi-Fi and TV size. Bodum style filter coffee and the staff searched for decaf for us ! the indoor/outdoor centre as the common landing area was unique! this is not a hotel with room service so guest beware but lots of options within walking distance.
absolutely loved the location and property everything was perfect. We arrived early to what check in is and was able to get our room straight away.
staff are very friendly and helpful. we loved Quint who was at concierge and helped us plan a few must do things in Dunedin.
they even had later check out than usual hotels. would definitely stay there again if ever in Dunedin again.
This hotel is in the northern part of Dunedin, easy walking to the Botanical Gardens, University and the Octagon. It is very well maintained and very clean. They provide a good kitchenette with a full range of cooking utensils and a good selection of coffee and tea. The bathroom is clean and has a good heater. Comfortable lounge area and comfortable bed.
Although this hotel may more basic than what most folks would want, we found it to be comfortable, well run, very well located, and an exceptional value for the money. Also, the hotel provides free parking just across the street. This makes it an even better option for a price-conscious traveler.
Cheap as chips so it is what it is. (you get what you pay for)?
On that note travelling around the cost of New Zealand ..... the most comfortable beds ever. compare this to the likes of 5* hotel apartments the staff efficient straight to the point .. but the best beds thus far.
The hosts were so lovely and generous with their breakfast items and snacks. The apartment was like a 5 star hotel! Every need and comfort was thoughtfully provided. Best place we stayed in Dunedin for the last 10 years! They are truly Super Hosts.
Beautiful boutique hotel well appointed self contained room.
Everything required is in the room washing and drying facilities
Rooms are immaculately maintained as is the rest of the property
Great location in Dunedin easy walk to restaurants
Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful from when I came in and when I checked out very early in the morning. Hotel location is awesome, very close to the CDB and most tourist attractions around Dunedin. Wifi worked great
Excellent location, Comfortable and spacious room and friendly staff.
The airport shuttle to Dunedin serves this location. If you are traveling to/from the airport to this hotel it helps to save a lot of money.
Great hotel. Friendly staff, clean room with fully equipped kitchen, comfy bed, fast wifi and walking distance to restaurants. Very good value for the money.
